SP
The SP Group comprises of the parent company and its subsidiaries ASTA,
CBI, Glafo, JTI, SIK, SMP, SP Process Development and SP Denmark. Together, we
form a powerful group of institutes promoting innovation and sustainable
development in industry and society. Excellence applied together with broad
technical scope is the hallmark of the Group. Our laboratory resources are
competitive in both national and international arenas. With a staff of over
1,200, of whom half are graduates and about 300 are research scientists, the
Group’s personnel constitute an important knowledge resource. SP conducts
annual assignments on behalf of more than 10,000 clients in order to enhance
their competitiveness and assist with sustainable development. Our assignments
include both interdisciplinary research and innovation projects and
market-oriented activities relating to testing and certification.
An increasing world population and greater demands on environmental awareness call for high efficiency energy solutions with minimal carbon dioxide emission. This concerns everything from the heating and cooling of buildings and processing waste, R&D activities dealing with combustion of biofuels and waste as well as small scale biomass chains from agriculture and forest, certification and testing of combustion equipment, airborne emission measurements to the development of new fuels and renewable sources of energy. We have extensive resources in terms of both laboratory facilities and competent personnel. We manage the development of new technology and process solutions for improving the efficiency of resource and energy usage and for reducing environmental impact. Assignments can involve everything from evaluation of component parts to analysis of solutions and their effects at a higher system level. SP’s Combustion and Aerosol Technology section covers combustion and gasification of biofuels and waste, waste management and air filtration. Many years of technical evaluations provide a sound experience-based foundation for extensive research activities. SP’s work on combustion technology embraces fuel quality, combustion technology and reduction of emissions. Main tasks and responsibilities
